TFW2005’s Titans Return Quake Gallery Now Online!

$

When the TFCC gave us modern updates of Generation 1 Targetmasters Spinister and Needlenose last year, a few of us were left thinking, “where is Quake”? Here’s the answer to that question – he’s in Titans Return!

Titans Return Quake is a reuse of the Titans Return Hardhead, one of the first Titans Return figures. Quake sports a new head, which does a good job of recreating the features of the original character, and the deco does a good job of recreating the color arrangement of the original Generation 1 Quake figure. The thunderbolt designs from the original Quake make it into this version too. Quake, like Hardhead, has excellent articulation including wrist swivels, which is appreciated. Unfortunately, as a reuse of Hardhead, Quake is no longer his original classic tank form but a high-tech tank. It’s a departure, but it is also to be expected – he’s a very obscure character, and this is probably the only new version of Quake we’re likely to see. Would we have liked a more faithful tank mode? Yes. But are we grateful for having a Quake at all to complete the 1988 Targetmaster Decepticons? Absolutely.

Check out our gallery to see nearly 200 photos of this cool update to this Decepticon Targetmaster.

Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura at U.S. China Film & TV Industry Expo

Reinforcing the importance of China to the continuing financial success of The Transformers properties, recently noted here and during The Last Knight’s theatrical run here, Lorenzo di Bonaventura talked about how that relationship best functions during a film’s production from script to screen as part of his “Close Ups – A Conversation with…” address at the 4th annual UCFTI in Los Angeles.

“You can guess, but a co-producing partner can help you with that [navigating what material might upset Chinese officials],” said the producer. [He] provided an example of when they were shooting a Transformers scene in Hong Kong. “They didn’t want the Hong Kong police to be shamed, which was never a concern because it’s a very heroic movie. We didn’t have to bend for that; there’s different criteria for different places,” he added.

We also learned about the value of product placement to The Last Knight’s media campaign (a cool $20m) and the robot cast size (4) of a certain upcoming Bumblebee film. Read the full article here, then join the discussion on the 2005 boards!

Transformers The Last Knight Legion Dragonstorm Released in the US

$

0

We’ve got a report that a new Transformers The Last Knight toy has finally arrived at US retail. The Last Knight’s Legion class Dragonstorm was spotted in a Meijer in Ft Wayne, IN. Hound, who is included in the Wave 3 case with Dragonstorm but does not carry over to the Wave 4 Legion class cases was not spotted – and given that the recent UK sighting of Dragonstorm is thought to have been the Wave 4 case assortment, it’s possible that Wave 3 – and by extension Hound – has been skipped over and this is Wave 4 arriving.

All we know right now is that Dragonstorm is hitting pegs in Meijers stores. Hopefully Hound just sold out before the boards member reporting this story got there, rather than his assortment being missed in a testament to the line’s noticeably poorer than average distribution.

The Bumblebee Movie News Roundup: Four

$
0
0

We are back with our weekly Transformers Universe: Bumblebee Movie News Roundup.

The biggest piece of info dropped on us last week is the fact that there will only be 4 robot cast members for the movie. One of the robots is [obviously] Bumblebee and we know of a possible Decepticon in the form of a red 1971 Plymouth GTX. This leaves 2 more for us to find out who or what they are. But if you direct your memory back to the early days if filming, you may know that the film crew advised not to bring cars to the set that are Yellow, Red, Black and White. Therefore it can be speculated that the remaining two bots are Black and White in color.

Meanwhile composer Steve Jablonsky stated that he may not be able to produce music for the Bumblebee movie since his hands are full with three other movie projects. However, it is worth noting that Mr. Jablonsky is under the impression that the movie will be released in Summer 2018 rather than Christmas 2018. Since scoring only happens during the final stages of post production, we can guess that there is still a chance for him to compose if approached by Paramount.

If we move back onto the set of the movie, we will learn that principal photography has entered what may be the final week. It comes as no surprise since we only learned last week that it was only just 2 weeks of filming left to do. Actor Jason Drucker was spotted heading to the Los Angeles set of Bumblebee Movie. He later uploaded some on set photos along with a photo of him wearing a classic Bumblebee headgear.

We also learned that star actress Hailee Steinfeld‘s brother Griffin Steinfeld is also present on the set for an unspecified role. Griffin is known as a professional race car driver on the NASCAR circuit.

Speaking of which, the actress herself Snapchatted several pics showcasing what looks as though a Blue Screen in the background. Therefore, we can conclude that a closed set is being used in the final days of filming for CGI related elements.

We hope you enjoyed reading our news roundup. We’ll see you next week with the possibility of filming wrapped up for Transformers Universe: Bumblebee. Don’t forget to checkout the images, after the jump. Happy weekend and have a great week ahead.

New Images of Megatron & Brawl Figures Revealed

0

Late last month we reported the news of Hasbro applying for a new trademarked titled “Movie Edition” along with a logo revealed. Today, thanks to Facebook page TFCN, we get a blurry first look of what could possibly be the first figures to launch with this new movie edition series.

Transformers (2007) Brawl and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Megatron appear to make another toy debute. It’s hard to analyze the blurry images, but it clearly shows that they are now extremely detailed, better proportioned, and have an amazing looking robot and alt mode (at least for Brawl). These are confirmed to be transformable figures due to the popular “number of steps” logo on the packaging. Furthermore, word has it that they’ll be in a voyager sized scale.

Along with the fantastic looking figures, they’ll also come with backdrops and stands for you to pose the figures and have a dynamic setting for displaying. We still do not have solid concrete information on when these will be released or how much they’ll retail for, but stick to TFW to be the first to know.

Check out the images after the jump!

One thing to notice is that we can catch a glimpse of the transformation sequence shown in a panel behind the prototype. It looks like a fun figure to transform.

And it’s time for our weekly round up of concept art images of The Last Knight. We are sure you will enjoy thise week’s set of images of Transformers The Last Knight Concept Art: Barricade Alternate Head & Glasses, Dead Knight Climb Down.

As usual, thanks to all members of our 2005 Boards for sharing these great images in our forums. You can find the pictures on the next threads:

Barricade Alternate Head & Glasses By Josh Nizzi. Barricade had an early idea for his head, similar to the one we saw in previous movies, but Josh Nizzi surprised us with the inclusion of a cool pair of shades for the popular Decepticon bad cop. None of these ideas got into the final production but we are sure you will have a lot to comment about it.

Dead Knight By Furio Tedeschi. We have 3 big views of a long dead Cybertronian Knight, showing the great amount of details that the artist put into this art. Great and creepy scene at the same time.
