TFW2005’s Titans Return Broadside Gallery

You know Springer, and you know Sandstorm – but what of the third, less appreciated member of the Autobot triple changers? We’re back with a brand new gallery, and we’re giving some love to the Autobot triple changer who has finally got an updated toy: Broadside.

The original Broadside was always the odd man of the triple changer Autobots, with the weakest toy. Having a boat mode has also meant he’s had far fewer opportunities to get any sort of homage, since Hasbro generally shies away from more than one or two nautical Transformers at a time – and even then, the boats often end up as speedboats or hovercrafts, not the aircraft carrier Broadside is known for. But now, Broadside has arrived, and is he worth the wait? Well, yes, and no. The jet mode on this new Broadside is by far his weakest mode, thanks to the way the legs arrange and the gap between them. We found it easier to accept, though, if we considered it as a flying fortress, rather than a standard supersonic jet. There’s also fan transformations where that fails, which result in a mode Generation 1 looking aircraft. The aircraft carrier mode is utterly lovely, complimented well by the bonus mini-Aerialbot accessories. The robot mode is undeniably Broadside, and carries the look off well, though we found him a little back-heavy in some poses.

Overall, Broadside is not the best Voyager in the Titans Return line, but he is a worthy update of the original toy and a nice way for Hasbro to round out the updates to the six original triple changer Transformers we’ve been getting since Springer arrived back in 2013.

Transformers G1 Early Concept Art – Unused Classic Car Cowboy-Bot

Once again, thanks to Twitter user @miiakira2017 we have some more Transformers G1 Early Concept Art to share with you.

This time we have a very curious sketch of a transformers “Classic Car” (according to the original Tweet) that transforms into a very cool robot that includes a Cowboy hat and a laser gun. From what we can see on the image, the transformation is pretty similar to the first Autobot cars, with the front as the robot chest and the legs that form the back of the vehicle. In the end, this design was not used.

You can check the mirrored images after the jump, and if you missed our previous reports and images you can search for them in the respective discussion thread at the 2005 Boards and share your impressions.

Via Takara Tomy Official Website we have the Transformers Encore God Fire Convoy New Sound Clips Samples.

The Encore Edition of God Fire Convoy (or Omega Prime) not only will bring new deco and the impressive Super God Sword. It was also reported that the original Japanese voice actors for Fire Convoy: Satoshi Hashimoto and God Magnus:  Takashi Matsuyama recorded new phrases for this release. You can listen to the new audio samples on this link the new phrases are in Japanese, and we can listen Fire Convoy this time.

  • Clip one: “Fire Convoy, Transform!”
  • Clip two:“Daijobu. atsui kokoro ni fukano wa nai!” / “It’s alright, there’s nothing impossible for the burning heart”

Possible Transformers Power of the Primes Combined Mode Packaging Artwork

The next toy line in the Prime Wars trilogy, Power of the Primes, is right around the corner. On top of all the exciting reveals we have received thus far, here we have some possible packaging artwork of Abominus, and the rumored Voyager class figure Elita One and Inferno in their combined mode form from an informant on Weibo. These artwork carry a similar style as the illustration on the side of Voyager Starscream‘s box from Power of the Primes seen at previous conventions. In these illustrations, Elita One and Inferno are seen combined with Jazz and Slag respectively, which may suggest that they do not have dedicated combiner team around them.

Along with this artwork are images of one page of Abominus’ instruction booklet and some product images from wave 1 of Power of the Primes showing the accessories that comes with each figure. Check out that images after the break.

Transformers Cyberverse Bumblebee, Windblade, and Optimus Prime first look and details

$

0

We are proud to be able to pass on the first details of Transformers Cyberverse, the new Transformers show coming our way in 2018.

Comicbook.com have posted the first image of the new show, and some details about what the series will involve.

First up: noses are back! After ten years of Transformers lacking noses in Transformers Animated, Transformers Prime and Transformers Robots in Disguise, these facial features that giant alien machines from space have no real need for are back!

Kidding aside, the artwork gives us our first look at the Transformers Cyberverse versions of the main cast. Bumblebee appears as a synthesis of his Generation 1 and IDW ongoing design, with the classic chest detail but the front of the car and door wings on the shoulders. Black stripes on the chest suggest the vehicle mode will be taking cues from Movie or possibly Transformers Prime Bumblebee.

Next to Bumblebee is Windblade, whose design seems to most closely mirror the character’s look from the Combiner Wars show, using the coloration of the Windblade toy that was released for Robots in Disguise last year.

Optimus Prime is shown in the background. We cannot see as much of Optimus, other than that he’s once again sporting a full face, implying the faceplate will only come out in battle. The squared look of the head is a more Generation 1 derived design than the typically longer and more angular movie derived designs also featured in Transformers Prime.

As far as details of the show go, Comicbook’s report includes the official synopsis for the show, which we’ve reproduced below:

Bumblebee is on a critical mission where lives are at stake! Only, he can’t remember what it is? It’s a good thing his best friend Windblade has found him to help repair his damaged memory chips. With each recovered memory, Bumblebee rediscovers his past adventures on Cybertron before coming to Earth. He relives fun moments when he played Cybertronian sports with his friends, and even tragic ones that would change his life. His past will shape him into becoming the hero we know today.

As each memory is repaired, another clue comes to light that will lead them both to complete their shared mission to save their friends and Earth… however, the Decepticons are hot on their heels and time is running out.

The synopsis of the show puts Bumblebee front-and-center once again, continuing the recent tradition of focusing on him as the main character that started in Robots in Disguise. It is interesting that Windblade is now being described as Bumblebee’s best friend; but it is a new continuity of stories. The story focus on Bumblebee recovering his memories is interesting, and will surely lead to some interesting plot developments (including, we’d expect, a twist or two about how Bumblebee and Windblade met, not to mention the mission). We’re expecting this to lead to a largely episodic structure early on – Bumblebee and Windblade facing some challenge with their other friends / human sidekick, with Bumblebee regaining a memory that helps with their current situation. Ongoing story arc elements are a given, and will probably develop slowly as bits of Bumblebee’s fragmented memories come to the surface.

We’re also expecting this whole premise will be given a resolution by the end of the first season, and a major moment may come when there is a full scale confrontation between Bumblebee’s band of allies and the pursuing Decepticons.

Comicbook’s report suggests that other Autobots will appear in the flashbacks, which is a given, but we’re sure they will also find their way into the plot in the modern day. Optimus Prime is naturally a given, though if Peter Cullen returns to voice the Autobot leader, we may see him in a guest role rather than a recurring one, in line with the sparing use of his talents on Robots in Disguise.

We’re excited to see where this all leads – as the length of this analysis of one image and two paragraphs of text shows – and we look forward to seeing more from the show.

Transformers Cyberverse is being developed by Boulder Media in association with Hasbro Studios, and is due to air in 2018.

Following our previous report of Possible POTP Combined Artwork, we can report more Possible Transformers Power Of The Primes Inferno, Elita-1 & Moonracer Packaging Artwork for your viewing pleasure.

The new images surfaced from once again via a  Weibo user and this time we have what seems to be the packaging art for Inferno, which looks like a nice remold of CW Voyager Hot Spot/Onslaught with a different chest flap and new head sculpt. Then we have Elita-1 artwork and bio card which makes a reference to her special ability: “Freezes and accelerates time without draining her energy”. Finally we have a very nice look at another classic G1 fembot: Moonracer.

As an extra bonus, we have a look at part of the new Dinobot Combiner: Volcanicus where we can also see the new hands/feet and how they combine.

The Bumblebee Movie News Roundup: Nearly There

$

0

Hello, fellow Transformers Live Action Movie fans. We are back with another Transformers Universe: Bumblebee movie news roundup.

Surprising everyone, it was confirmed last week that the principal photography for the new movie has entered its final days. By the time Hailee Steinfeld (star actress of the movie who plays the role of Charlie Watson) Instagrammed a concealed script last Thursday, the movie has entered Day 53 out of 70 days of filming.

Of course we knew that the movie had a significantly smaller budget than its predecessors, and it feels like yesterday when The Bumblebee Movie began production on July 31st. Only very little info came out of the sets and we believe it is mostly due to the fact of keeping away from busy cities such as Chicago where a large number of onlookers would send out info into social media.

We expect the movie to conclude principal photography somewhere around early November and therefore giving a little more than a year for post production and marketing.

Meanwhile, John Cena confirmed his role as a Sector 7 agent through his official Twitter account. Mr. Cena was spotted wearing a S7 uniform with a nametag indicating a possible surname titled as Burns.

The movie is currently being filmed in Long Beach, California which includes Night Shoots. Several on-set photos are also available via Instagram and Snapchat. You can check them out, after the jump.

Transformers Universe: Bumblebee is directed by award winning director Travis Knight based on a script written by Christina Hodson and starring Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Pamela Adlon, Jason Drucker, Abby Quinn, Rachel Crow, Ricardo Hoyos and Gracie Dzienny.

And we are back with our usual round up of concept art images of The Last Knight. This time we have another great set of images to share with you like Transformers The Last Knight Concept Art: Megatron, Onslaught & Landscapes.

As usual, thanks to all members of our 2005 Boards for sharing these great images. You can find the pictures on the next threads:

Megatron Fire By Josh Nizzi. Believe it or not, this idea considered Megatron throwing fire by his mouth.

Onslaught Back By Josh Nizzi. While he didn’t have a lot of screening, Josh Nizzi had shared the front of Onslaught’s design, and now we can check the back of this massive character. He also explains that spikes were added on his back later.

Quintessa’s Wall, Ship Exterior, Corridor Soldiers & Cybertron Landscape By Thomas Pringle. First we have a detailed look at Quintessa wall featuring the staff and the Knights. We also have big and clear views of the Cybertronian ship under the sea, the inner passages where the TRF soldiers went by and a very cool Cybertronian landscape with a Transformers standing in the center.

WWII Nazi Headquarter & Cybertron Interior By James Paick. Another great pieces of art featuring key locations of the movie like the Nazi Headquarters that Bumblebee and Hot Rod attacked and a great Cybertronian room.
